Changing the union is easy. If you join ASIA from another union, make sure that the membership fee is paid for each month to your previous union.

You can change your unemployment fund without affecting your entitlement to benefits. The change of unemployment fund must be made within one month of leaving the previous fund.

If you join a new unemployment fund within a month of leaving your old fund, the unemployment insurance you have already accumulated, will be transferred with you to the new fund (provided that the membership fees of your old trade union / unemployment fund have been paid or an exemption from membership fees has been granted until the end of membership).

How to switch from another union to ASIA?

When you join ASIA from another union, make sure that the membership fee is paid for each month to either the previous union or ASIA. A break in membership fee payment can put your unemployment security at risk, so make sure your membership fees are up to date throughout the transition process.

1. Fill in the membership application

• Complete the membership application that you can find in the ASIA portal. Your membership will begin at the earliest on the day you complete your application. You can also wish for your membership to start later. Membership cannot be registered to start retroactively.
• Fill in your email address carefully. Once our member service has confirmed your membership, you will receive an email confirmation from us within a few business days.
• It is easy to join KOKO unemployment fund via ASIA. In the Join as a member form in the ASIA portal, select KOKO membership, and the start date of the cashier membership as the service's start date.
• Send a written notice of resignation to your previous union: mention the difference from both the union and the unemployment fund.
• You can also authorize ASIA to terminate your previous membership (unemployment fund and/or union).

2. Wait for confirmation of your membership

• Once your ASIA membership has been confirmed, you will receive a confirmation message from us by email within a few business days.

3. Resign from your previous union / unemployment fund

If you are a member of another union or unemployment fund at the time of joining, resign from them only after you have received confirmation of your ASIA membership. Resigning and joining the new one must be done within one month to ensure your unemployment security remains uninterrupted.  

4. Pay your membership fees on time

You can find the payment instructions for the membership fee in the confirmation email sent to you. In terms of maintaining your unemployment security, there must be no interruption in membership fees.
